Tips on How to Meditate:

Using aromatherapy alongside your daily meditation rituals are both relaxing and fun! By using different scents during each of your meditations (depending on the time of day) conditions your mind to ‘this is meditation time’ and smooths you into the session with ease. Light and happy notes can be use in the morning to freshen the mind for the day, the afternoon can make use of more herbal-based notes for a gentle revitalisation, whereas heavy scents can be used before bedtime. You can add the essential oils to an aromatherapy burner or apply an oil pre-mixed with a carrier to your hands before meditation.

I have listed in this infographic three essential oil recommendations during meditation:

Lemon for the mornings as a top note,

Lavender for the afternoon as a middle note,

Sandalwood for the evenings as a base note.

Tip: Whenever possible always buy reputable and sustainable products as these will contain the proper amounts of oil for an effective and long-lasting aromatherapy treatment!

Crystal Healing #1: DIY Physical Ailments Bracelet

crystal-healing-physical-ailment-bracelet

Tips on Working with Crystals:

Here is a design concept for a crystal healing bracelet aimed at assisting with disease and physical ailments. I regularly combine all kinds of crystals to generate certain effects and to resonate with one another. Here I chose the main healer bloodstone and selected several crystals to balance energies and strengthen the healing purpose. You are more than welcome to make ones for yourself, friends and family (i.e. non-commercial purposes) based on the design (I also listed some alternatives for each stone in the image above).

Tip: Creating your own crystal bracelet combinations make them more powerful since they are more personal = extra shiny ju-ju vibes!

Moon Lore #1: Full Moon Names for the Southern Hemisphere

Moon, Full Names, All Natural Spirit, Ritual, South Africa, Southern, Hemisphere, Lore, Luna, Lunar, Pagan, Native American

Tips on Working with La Luna:

I improvised a list of names for the Southern African Full Moons, which are suited to our cultivation times, crops, seasonal occurrences and weather events. Historically the lunar cycle (lunation) was used to determine the time of year in the lunisolar calendar. Modern religious and spiritual movements have allocated names to the full moons within each solar calendar month. Here I provide a list of Pagan (likely derived from the Celtic and Medieval traditions) names and  Native American (most used) names for the full moon. This is not an exhaustive list and there are many variations. Globally, many cultures have a list of names for the lunar months, those listed here are the most popular.

Tip: You can place your crystals and other spiritual tools in the light of the full moon (just because you can and some extra moonlight ju-ju gives us good vibes)! Remember the moon is technically full (as in, above the 90% mark) for 3 days; i.e. the day before, the day on and the day after = extra awesome ju-ju vibes!

Crystal Lore 2#: Rose Quartz – Free Oracle Card

Crystal, Healing, All Natural Spirit, Oracle, Flash, Card, Information, Sheet, Emotion, Heart, Metaphysical, Property, Meaning, Properties, Heal, Rose, Quartz, high resolution

Tips on Working with Crystals:

My second crystal lore flash card! Rose Quartz has always been the universal symbol of love and compassion. It is a very versatile and powerful crystal, yet soothing and healing to the heart.

I have here another printable (customise to any size you like) information sheet regarding the soft-hearted crystal known as Rose Quartz. The information sheet contains its minerology (chemical constituents), its natural colour range as well as some authentication tests. I explain how they are formed in the firery bowls of the earth and the main locations for mining of Rose Quartz. Seeing that Rose Quartz firmly symbolises all matters of the heart – it is linked to the heart chakra as well as emotional healing and harmony. Combine Rose Quartz with the heart chakra trinity for well balanced healing and for more serious work you can bring Gem Sillica as well as Malachite into the equation.

Tip: Rose Quartz is very hard and resilient, such it won’t scratch easily and you can place it in water to purify its energy without any damage to the crystal itself!

I have two downloadable files here for personal and non-commercial use (click links blow). Print out & enjoy! There are more crystal flash cards to come!

Meditation Infographic #3: Musical Aids

meditation-ideas-4-musical-aids

Tips on How to Meditate:

Music can assist with reaching a meditative state and turns your focus inwards towards your breath. Here is a selection of three musical pieces composed by Adrian von Ziegler. They are most effective to use during the day with a set intention, but not during your morning (after waking) or evening (before bed) meditations. When you use them for creative thinking or observations of your thoughts, keep a pen and paper at hand to jot down any impressions. Review these afterwards and you’d be amazed at how inspiring some of the ideas can be. Pluto is my favourite and I use it first to get me in the mood, then I move on to either the Autumn Forest or Summer Isle.

Tip: Select musical pieces that are in harmony with your usual meditation time, for instance if you are a beginner, 5 minute pieces are preferred, whereas more advanced students could combine smaller pieces or select longer ones!

Here are the links:

Autumn Forest ( approximately 20 min)

Summer Isle (approximately 20 min)

Pluto (approximately 10 min)
